Ulo will be monitoring your property 24/7 but it will actually record videos only when it detects a movement*. This way, you won't have to go through hours of empty video.
*You can also record short videos on demand via live feed.

Ulo can only record events when set on spy or alert mode.
The camera will begin recording an event when a movement is first detected. A notification including the first 20 seconds can be sent on request.
Ulo will keep recording if the movement goes on. After a 10 minutes delay, Ulo will re-send another notification with the first 20 seconds of the next 10 minutes. This continues until the motion stops.
There are many ways to improve your battery life. The best one is to keep the default settings, especially for face and voice recognition.
You can also avoid placing Ulo in crowded places and set up a detection exclusion.
Ulo works with 3 NimH batteries (min 1900mA).
We tested lots of brands, all of them seem to work perfectly with Ulo.
The most important is to use AA or LR06 NiMH batteries (with FFC certification).
Ulo can charge the batteries, you don't need to get an additional charger.
Ulo is powered by a standard charging USB (5V-2A).
Users can also receive notifications while guests can't.
Notifications can be customized while you first configure your Ulo and go through all the settings.
You can also have a quick access to notifications settings. It means that you don't have to flip Ulo upside-down to enter the configuration mode. You can simply :
Enter the app or go to www.ulo.camera from your computer or tablet.
From the home page, swipe left three times or click three times on the arrow at the bottom right corner.
Tap or click on the round buttons to enable or disable notifications for each situation:
