How can I perform a factory reset on Ulo?

Important : A reset will delete all your settings, you will need to reconfigure your camera.

If you need to reinstall your Ulo, you can reset it back to the factory default settings. You have two options :

  • Maintain a tap of 30 seconds on Ulo's forehead until you see circular arrows in its eyes.

  • Or go to the configuration mode by turning Ulo upside-down and go down the menu of settings to access it.

 Once the camera has rebooted, follow the Quick Start Guide to reconfigure your Ulo.

How do I clean Ulo?

Always unplug the power before cleaning Ulo. Don't submerge Ulo in water or any other liquid and don't use aerosol cleaners. We recommend to simply use a lint-free cloth to gently dust it. Be careful wih screens and beak. The beak is really thin, make sure you don't press it when you clean Ulo. It could deform and affect the video quality.

How to do firmware update (Highly Recommended) ?

1. First of all, connect the Ulo with 5v 2amp adapter. Use your PC/Laptop's browser to open the web page(recommended).

2. In Internal storage page, it will show update is available. Make sure your Ulo is connected to very high speed internet.

3. Click on the Install button/tab.

4. It will download the update.

5. After downloading, it will install the firmware update and by that time Ulo's eyes will show arrow animation directly or it will shut down the eyes animation for 2 mins and then it will open its eyes animation again and then shows arrow animation. 

6. In any case, do not remove the power cable.

7. Wait for the Ulo's eyes to come up and wait for the smile animation.

8. If the web page still shows installing popup and it's a long time (30 minutes or it says something went wrong) then first check whether Ulo's camera shows the eyes animation with smile (colorful eyes).

9. If it does, cut the window and open it again.

10. Once completed, your Ulo is ready to use.

How to configure Cloud Access for the first time

Cloud access is not available for the moment

If you have installed the latest version of Ulo app from App’s Store and you have upgraded your Ulo to the latest version (10.1007), the home page on the Ulo app will have new options.

  • Cloud access and direct access

  • Click on Cloud access.

  • For the first time, you’ll need to Sign up for the Cloud.

  • While signing up a validation email will be sent to your email.

  • Click on the link on the email.

  • Your account will be validated.

  • Login on the Ulo app with the same Username and password you have kept for Cloud.

  • It will show no associated Ulo as it will be the first time you are configuring your Ulo for Cloud.

  • Click on + sign

  • It will show last 4 characters of your Ulo’s Mac address, click on it.

  • Then it will navigate to country’s page, here select your Country and click on OK.

  • It will take you to Wi-Fi settings page, input your Wi-Fi network’s SSID and Password and click on OK.

  • It will show a Pop-Up(Now you’re connected to your Wi-Fi Router). Click on OK.

  • After some time, again a pop up will appear ‘Now you have successfully registered for cloud’( only if internet service is available )
